This page illustrates several grammatical uses of the intensifier/quantifier/interjection "hella", in my native dialect.

I'm currently finishing an M.A. in linguistics at the University of California, Davis, with a B.A. from the very same institution in linguistics and philosophy. In September, I'll be a PhD student at UC San Diego.

My academic interests

I'm a hella good Scrabble player, with a tournament rating currently hovering in the low 1800s. I play online at ISC as Blacksilk.

I like to read hella poetry, and occasionally write some. I'm especially into Rilke, (Bob) Browning, MIllay, Auden, Parker (hella!), and Dr. Seuss. Check out my favorite poet from my generation, A. E. Stallings.

I'm a supporter (and hella early adopter!) of e-gold, the online currency fully backed by precious metal. My account is #100592.

Believe it or not, I am a recovering ex-Randian ("Objectivist"). For (mostly) reasonable criticism of Rand from a wide range of views, check out the stuff here or here.
